CLASS POLICIES
Our teachers spend a lot of time developing original designs and lesson plans that teach skills at a specific level. Students who take a class have permission to reproduce any designs which they are taught in class as often as they wish and for any purpose. Students may not, however, claim the design as their own nor may they teach the design or use the lesson plan to teach others. Designs that are used in class which have been printed as how to articles in magazines or books are considered to be in the public domain and may be used and taught freely.
We refund the entire class fee if we cancel or weather prohibits travel.
½ the class fee will be refunded if a student cancels at least 48 hours before the class.
A late fee of $20 will be charged to anyone who registers less than 48 hours before the class (unless filling a cancellation).
Our class size is limited to provide you with the best possible instruction. If you must miss the class you have registered for, it is your responsibility to notify us. Waiting for a student who is not coming causes a disruption to the flow of the class and a loss of time needed for the completion of the day’s projects. Handouts, supplies, use of tools and any discounts offered are for participating students. These items are not paid for separately but are included in the class fee which is non refundable unless the student notifies us more than 48 hours prior to class that they cannot attend. If a student does not attend class they are not entitled to these items.
Rare exceptions can be made to the class attendance policy in the event of a death in the immediate family, you are hospitalized, your child is hospitalized, etc. These must be verifiable. If you feel you have such a situation, please contact us with the details.
Please, be on time for class. Many classes give important safety rules and information on safe handling techniques at the beginning of class. Students who arrive so late that the teacher cannot cover all the safety information again without adverse effect on the rest of the class may be asked to leave without any reimbursement.
We make every effort to provide a safe learning environment and to teach safe work habits. Many of our classes involve the use of open flame, the handling of glass and sharp tools, etc. Students are responsible for their own safety and well being and by agreeing to this policy statement students agree to hold harmless Caldron Crafts, the owners, teachers, employees and agents of Caldron Crafts. Those who engage in unsafe practices in class may endanger not only themselves but also their fellow students. Students who refuse to follow the teacher’s instructions regarding safety issues may be asked to leave class without reimbursement of any kind and are not entitled to take the unused portion of their supplies.
Please dress for safety. Tie back long hair, no ties or scarves or other dangling items and wear closed shoes.
If you need optivisors, glasses, or other magnification, please remember to bring them. Optivisors and magnifying glasses are available for purchase, but we cannot lend our personal optivisors.
NOC members receive a 10% discount on class fees. Be sure to tell us that you are an NOC member when registering and be ready with your membership card and expiration date.
