Taught by Murf Moorefield

Create a bracelet made from wire and beads.  Students can choose copper, brass or sterling silver, as well as a choice of beads.  Skills learned will include making jump rings and spirals from wire, as well as creating a hand made clasp.

Working With The Healing Powers Of The Earth -- To Normalize Blood Pressure
Taught by Barbara and Asia Warnock

This workshop is not intended to replace proper medical care but rather to allow our bodies to respond more easily to and completely to medical treatments. Uncontrolled High Blood Pressure is a serious health risk.  It is important that we understand what affects our BP and use every means possible to keep it in the normal range. We will look at how use the energies of our bodies, stones, incense, mysts and other natural means to help us regulate our blood pressure. This will be a hands on workshop in which you will learn how to select the best energies for your individual needs. Preregistration required  by Jan 22nd.

The Princess Bling Ring Class
Guest Teacher Doug Goldberg

Learn to create a beautiful woven beaded ring with a 8mm center bead, bicone crystals, myuki tube seed beads and small sterling 2 mm beads.  We will use soft flex wire to weave an intricate fabo princess ring...students must be able to work with small beads...and have there own magnification to help them see (Optivisors and magnifying glasses available for sale at class.)

Preregistration required

Celtic Vision Chain Maille Earrings
Taught by Guest Teacher Sandra Britcher

They will also learn proper opening and closing of jump rings.  Earrings can be made in  sterling or copper or colored wire. $12 for Sterling class kit  $9 for copper or colored wire kit.  Each kit makes 1 pair of earrings.  Suitable for beginners.

Metal Clay Domed Reversible Pendant
with Guest Teacher Barbara Hance

wpe1.jpg (10325 bytes) Students will texture, form and assemble a light weight domed pendant.  Using a different texture on each side will allow you to reverse your pendant according to your outfit or mood.  Two pendants for the price of one!  Knowledge of Metal Clay necessary.  This project will be done in Silver Clay.

Celtic Knot Pendant (A Seed Bead Project)
           Taught by Guest Teacher Bonnie Dunn

wpe1.jpg (19753 bytes)Create an intricate triple celtic knot with Seed Beads.  Students will work on a small sampler first, using both Peyote and Ndebele stitches.  They will then move on to selecting three colors that work well in the design and making the Celtic Knot. 

This class was so popular we had to add another one to the schedule!  The second class is Sat Feb 20.

4-in-1 Chain Maille
Taught by Guest Teacher Sandra Britcher

The 4-in-1 is a basic chainmaille weave which can be used in a variety of shapes.  Students will learn how to open and close jump rings, the 4-in-1 pattern, and a hand formed clasp to set off their work.  Student may choose sterling silver, copper, OR brass (brass is a harder wire and not suggested for beginning chainmaillers).  Students may wish to bring their Optivisors (Optivisors and magnifying glasses available for sale at class.)

Wiresmithed Cabachon Ring
a WIREMASTERS CLASS  with Master Wire Wrapper Murf Moorefield

Using techniques from Jim McIntosh’s WIRESMITHING book we will create a cabochon ring with prongs. This class is open to advanced wire wrappers who have permission of the Instructor. Student must bring their copy of WIRESMITHING to the class.

Fused Glass I 
Taught by Murf Moorefield

This class will get you well grounded in hot glass fundamentals and techniques.  This is a Hands on Introduction to Hot Glass Jewelry Making using a Kiln. Find out about the properties of hot glass and how  to determine the compatibility of different types of glass.  Dichroic, iridized and other types of glass as well as stringers, confetti and frit will be discussed and used in this class.  Learn proper use of a kiln, including the use of kiln wash, shelf paper and correct temperatures and timing for tack and full fusing.  Instruction will include glass cutting, using the grinder, and setting a piece using sterling silver wire.

This class is a requirement for advanced glass classes.

Soldering & Silverworking
Taught by
Barbara Warnock and Murf Moorefield

This is the last time Barbara Warnock will be teaching this class!  

This is a two day beginning level course in silversmithing.   On the first day you will learn the proper use of the torch and solder and the basic techniques for working with the properties of silver. We will complete two pendants and a ring on Saturday.  On Sunday we will use our soldering skills to create settings for cabochons and learn how to set these stones.  Students will use both pre-made bezel cups and step bezel and learn the advantages and disadvantages of each.

This class is required for all advanced Silversmithing classes.

Beginning Wire Wrapping
Taught by Master Wire Wrapper

Create solderless jewelry using wire to set gemstones.  Learn about the different shapes, gauges and hardness of wire, as well as when to use them.  Make twisted wire.  We will make a pair of earrings and two pendants. Sterling Silver Wire used for both pendants.

Tribal Disk Jewelry
Taught by Murf Moorefield

Students will enhance their projects with stamping, chasing, repousse and patina techniques.  Experiment with pitch pot, lead block, and sandbag techniques.  Metal forming will be taught including doming and forging.  Students will have their choice of crafting a necklace, bracelet, and/or earrings with their discs..  No soldering is necessary in this class.

Corrugated Bracelet (A Metalworking Project)
           Taught by Guest Teacher Sandra Britcher

Student will make five panels of their choice and link together to make a perfectly sized bracelet.  Student will learn to hem metal, proper use of tube ringer for corrugation, use dapping tool and block for embellishment, and size links to arrive at a well fitting bracelet.  Class is suitable to beginners as well as more advanced metalworking students.

Beaded Frog

Create a Fantastical Frog made from seed beads!  Students will have ample selections of beads in order to create their own image of their frog.  Knowledge of peyote stitch is essential in this project.
