About our Teachers
We have
assembled a group of teachers with solid backgrounds who can offer Caldron
Crafts students a very wide variety of skills and techniques. We know that with
a wider repertoire of skills students can be more creative in developing their
own personal style. We are very proud and pleased that the following
instructors will be offering classes this session at Caldron Crafts.
Cindy Blackburn
After majoring
in Jewelry making At Maryland Institute of Art, Cindy has pursued a career in
jewelry design and fabrication. She works in silver and gold, incorporating
forging, casting, hollow construction and other techniques to achieve her
design while enhancing the beauty of the minerals and gems she works into her
pieces. Cindy has been a guest teacher at Caldron Crafts a number of times over
the past several years, always to rave reviews.
Sandra Britcher
Sandra is a
versatile crafter who not only works with metal and stone she has also worked
with wool and other fabrics for many years. She has offered a variety of
classes at Caldron Crafts including several on various chainmaille designs, as
well as classes on Gem Trees and Gem Tree Pendants. Some of these are complex
projects but Sandra has a knack for guiding students through them with patience
and humor.
Alicia
Buckler-White
Along with her
Metal Clay Certification, Alicia brings creativity, energy and problem solving
abilities to help students master this amazing medium. She is always on the
move, growing her creativity and skills
Doug Goldberg
Doug
apprenticed at Grooms in Ellicott City before becoming part of the Caldron
Crafts Family. Doug brings precision and creative flair to all his work. He
has a wide variety of skills to impart and his easy going teaching method make
his classes always in high demand.
Dana Hinds
Dana is a
multi-talented artisan who not only is a very skilled seed beader but is also a
wood carver. Her Forte is fine detail and delicate work. Her many years of
working with seed beads in numerous designs and applications gives her a solid
background for teaching others the intricacies of this work.
Inara Knight
Inara is a
nationally known Lampworker whose pieces have been featured in many books
including "1000 Beads” and on the cover of the 2007 ISGB (International Society
of Glass Beadmakers) Gathering Brochure. She has been a glass bead maker for
over 20 years and is past president of the Baltimore Bead Society and Editor of
The Annual Bead Review Series. Although Inara only started teaching at Caldron
Crafts last year, she has already acquired a following of eager students.
Murf Moorefield
Co-founder and
partner of Caldron Crafts which began on a shoe string in 1973. Murf has spent
many years not only working at her Jewelry Craft but also working with the
healing and metaphysical properties of stones and metals. She has been teaching
jewelry skills and Metaphysical classes at Caldron Crafts for over 20 years and
has also taught at such places as Beadfest and the Jewelry Arts Expo. Murf has
created several prize winning pieces and brings a good deal of experience and
skill to her students.
Barbara
Warnock
Co-founder and
partner of Caldron Crafts, Barbara has over 30 years experience with Lapidary
and Silversmithing and has several prize winning pieces to her credit. With
over 20 years experience developing and teaching business, metaphysical and
jewelry making classes she has a wide range of skills and information to offer.
